OK, so the new Spider-man 3 trailer hit the web today. It looks absolutely fantastic. Too bad the movie doesn't come out till next summer. It does seem, however, that this movie has to lead to another sequal. So. yeah. Spoilers.
Spidey dawns the symbiotic black suit. Hell yeah, true believers, this story looks like it leads into the Venom storyline. Great shots of the Sandman, who really looks a lot better than I thought he would. I can't wait. Cool shots of the symbiot attaching itself to Peter. I can't wait to see this.
Anyways, Superman Returns comes out tomorrow. Previews have all looked pretty good, but one early review said it wasn't as good as he thought it would be. Who knows, I mean that is just one man's opinion. I can't wait to see it.

Paid to blog
I'm here at the Maine College of Art (MECA) guarding its security. YAY! Not. It's not the funnest job in the world, but it will pay the bills for now. Certain sites have internet access, or you can watch DVDs on your computer, but others the most you can do is read. As for my other job, it might not pay anything at all. I will, however get invaluable experience. This is my last night of training. Tomorrow and Wednesday I will be on my own here at the MECA. Hopefully I won't be assigned here too many more times because I'm not such a fan of the rounds they have us do. There are these things called deggys and they are small disks on the wall that you have to touch with a "deggy wand" to show that you have been to certain spots on your rounds. It's ridiculous. Here at the MECA there are 23, and they are not all easy to get to.
So I'm working here from 5pm-1am and then working 9am-4:30pm at the law office tomorrow, then 5pm-1am at meca again. That's my schedule on Wednesday too. I'm going to be pretty tired. I don't have security work on Thursday or Friday, though, so I will get a rest. Next week I'll hopefully have mostly weekend hours. I feel so tired already.

And now for the busiest summer ever!
So I got an e-mail the other day from a friend of mine. She heard from another friend that there was this attorney looking for a law student to work for him for the rest of the summer. Cool, I thought, if I get this job, I might not have to work security. Well, I called him, and he and another attorney he works with said they want to meet with me. They seemed to say I could have the job as long as I could work for free. Of course I have to take it, because any opportunity to go to court on a regular basis (which they've offered me) is invaluable experience. Both attorney's specialize in criminal law and work mostly with indigent clients, so I can see how they probably can't really afford to pay me. So I'll most likely be working 16 hours a day, 8 for these attorneys, 8 with security. Yay for 8 hours off to sleep!!! of course it probably won't work out exactly like that. But I am really looking forward to get back into the criminal law business. This job will be very similar to what I did when I spent the summer down in DC, only I'll probably doing more spectating in court and less actual work. We'll see.

SECURITY!!!
I finally have a summer job. Not a legal one, but I guess it was a bit of a long shot anyway. It's hard to get hired anywhere as a 1L. But next summer I'll be a 2L and I absolutely need to get a legal internship. Anyways, I'm a security guard now with Publicover Security. It's actually not a bad job at all. I don't have a permanent assignment yet, but my first training assignment was relatively interesting. It involved port security. I actually can't talk too much about it, because it's a federal government maritime security post. There are aspects of the job that are pretty intense when it comes to arrival and departure of ships from the pier. Tomorrow I'm going to the Congressional Trust building. I imagine that's mostly offices. Probably less intense.
Anyways, that's my job. Pay's ok, and I'm pretty sure I'll be on second shift so I won't have to get up early, so It's not bad at all.
Got my grades today. Pretty disappointing. I didn't do as well as last semester, so that sucks. But this coming semester will be cool because I'm mostly going to be taking courses I chose and want to take. That's usually where I shine when it comes to school: when I'm doing something I want to do. Anyway, aside from feeling dumb (cause of my grades) and useless (because I didn't get a legal job) I'm doing ok. Hope I don't feel down forever. On top of all that of course, the anniversary of Cory's death was Monday, so he's been on my mind a lot lately. Not that I don't think about him all the time anyway. Well, It's getting late . . .
