Speaking of cars, . . .
. . . mine wouldn't start last night or this morning. A jump start got her going last night, and she was running fine, so I'm pretty sure I just need a new battery. The trick is, I don't really know how to install a car battery, so I'm going to have to get it to sears or somewhere to have one installed, but it WON'T START. This is frustrating. I'm going to have to find someone who will give me a jump just so I can get to Sears. The other problem is that I don't know much about car batteries. I mean do I just go with the $40 battery that looks like it's a sears brand battery? At this moment that looks like all I can afford. This really sucks. I mean, I understand that the car is 10 years old so it's going to need a little extra maintenance now and again, but two months ago it was 500 dollars to pass inspection, and now I need a new battery. You think Meineke would have told me something about the battery. I could get a $56 diehard battery. I just don't know. The $16 dollar difference could be worth the longer warranty in itself. Not to mention this is a battery that's supposed to work well in the cold weather. But what if we move south in the next few years? Do I have to buy a new battery? I don't even think I really have the money to buy this battery. I just pray that someone is around to give me a jump tomorrow, and that this is not really an alternator problem. I don't think it is, because otherwise the car probably would have stopped running, and the headlights would not have been so strong last night. So, I have little doubt that my car generates electricity, my battery just won't hold it. That's all I got for now.

Pirates and whatnot
So, went to see Dead Man's Chest Wednesday night. It was pretty good. Not as good as the first one, but that's the way it goes. Yaknow, now that it's going to be a trilogy it got me thinking: the plot is slightly reminiscent of Star Wars. A farm boy (blacksmith's apprentice) who finds out the dreadful truth about his father, a princess (governor's daughter) who is captured by the evil fleet of ships, and must be rescued only to show that she is a capable fighter herself, and a scoundrel (pirate) who finds himself doing the right thing a few too many times, and ends up trapped at the end of second movie (carbonite/inside a kraken), only to be subject to a rescue attempt in the third movie. Yes, other than the princess(governer's daughter)/scoundrel(pirate) love story not really existing, and the Princess(governer's daughter) and farmboy(blacksmith's apprentice) not being brother and sister, the stories are quite similar. I guess it's just a testament to the universal mythology of Star Wars. Pirates has it's own alure as well, however, and obviously it does well on it's own merits.
So here I am, working at the Maine College of Art (MECA). It's actually not bad since I had the rest of the week off this week. The attorney that I work for was on vacation, so I got to sleep in and watch the Tour de France. It was great. It's been a great Tour so far. For those of you that don't know, I've been a Tour de France fan since I was little. My Opa and I used to watch it whenever I went to visit him and my Oma in Belgium. Belgians are big cycling fans, especially those like my Opa who live in the northern Flanders region of Belgium. It's not quite the same without Lance, but it's still good.
The summer after my Freshman year in College, I even got to go to a stage in the Tour. It was really cool to see the cyclists fly by. The next day, we went to the starting point of the next stage and I waited in the crowd and got Lance Armstrong's autograph. It was really cool. So yeah, I'm a pretty big fan of the Tour.
Too bad about France and the World Cup, though. I was really routing for them.

Superman Returns and . . .
he's got a kid. Oh and he kicked some ass. And got his ass kicked. And almost died.
Ok, ok, so here's what I thought: This movie was great. It surpassed my expectations, which were high. It was good that I knew that this movie wasn't really going to be an action movie going into it. "A movie about Superman that isn't an action movie?" you say. Well, if you look back at Superman movies that came before it, you'll see that none of them are really action movies. I mean you can even look at the T.V. series Lois & Clark. It's deffinitely not an action T.V. series. I really enjoyed the story and I thought that the actors did a great job of portraying the characters. I've read too many Superman Returns reviews to write an original one, so I'll just leave you with the fact that I really liked the movie.
I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Almost all my friends from college are meeting up at the Stollers. It's been so long since we were all together like this. We came close going to x3, but there were still some missing. I don't know how long it's been since I last saw Vanessa. And I haven't seen Beth in forever. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.
